Okay, now that the title got your attention, this is um... a rather odd post.

Over the last 2 weeks, Azeroth has been officially um... best word to describe it, dead. I know I've been hiding out myself due to some issues I've been dealing with (including a little monster known as Scruffy), but I'm just wondering where everyone is.

When I've looked at guild chat, there's usually at most 2 people on (and this isn't at the odd time of New Zealand night time, nope nope).

Even on the weekends, we've had at most 5 people on so there has been no possibility of even a Kara going on.

I've had people ask me what's going on, and I know everyone has things they're dealing with, so I do understand it.

This is a post where people can post if they have been around, or not able to be around, or whatever you feel like. I apologize for my ability to be incoherent right now, its what 6 hours of sleep with a howling puppy does to me.

See you all in Azeroth sometime Smile

It is quiet these days. I think there are actually a number of things contributing, the same things that usually do, they have just right now conspired to happen near each other and it's making the normal ups and downs more noticeable.

For the majority of TTP summer is arriving, we have lawns to cut, vacations to take, long weekends, seasonal jobs, visiting relatives, etc in a larger number than we seem to in winter.

Personal items of great variety (moving, illness, family responsibilities, graduations, exams, etc) seem to be hitting quite a few of our members right now and they are things that are keeping us absent from Azeroth.

Most of our members are long time (years long) daily players. Some times we just have to leave Azeroth to catch up on Earth.

The game has not had a new expansion in a year and a half. While new accounts seem to be either still climbing slowly or at least holding steady currently, the number of "active players" right across the game is in a real low point. That is most especially noticeable in long time players.

For myself, the quiet non thinking grind of day quests I know well I find a great source of relaxation right now. I am in game most days at least for a short time to grind away and unwind quietly. That I get to visit during those moments with some of the people I value most is a splendid bonus. Grin

So... Leme... should we use this as a sort of Daily Journal to stay in touch? Grin

Dear Diary,

Today I head out of town to attend a sort of... earth friendly summit? Not sure what to call it but the most active group of ecologically minded citizens up here (nearly all from other places, the locals seem to care little) are gathering at a farm to hunker down a few days and work out some upcoming strategies.

Considering the level of air pollution from the mining industry (we have one of the lowest life expectancy rates in the country, one of the highest pollution levels in the world, and some of the highest rates of cancer and asthma in Canada), the rampant cutting of over 90% of our forests, and the blue collar mining mentality that pervades (don't upset the mines!) it's a gathering about 80 years overdue.

I live in one of the most outstandingly natural beauty areas on the planet. Yet we have a government that passes laws on where trees can be cut that Hide the problem instead of fixing it. Trees cannot be cut so many feet near a road or around a lake... so that way the tourists out boating and fishing and the locals driving through their lives never SEE just how bad it really is. Some of the Northern Ontario forests are slotted for 100% cutting in the next 5 years. The "lucky" ones have only been 85% cut during the last decades. Sad

Farther north there are no trees and the vast majority of our forests are already long gone. I've seen the Ministry mines showing the cut areas from just the last 10 years alone and what is being cut in the next 5. It's horrifying.

The LAST stand of old growth forest in Northern Ontario is some two hours from here and has been under siege for many years by the forestry industry. The government allows them to take parts of it each year and the only reason it's still standing at all is because a nearby band of Natives are fighting tooth and nail to keep it. The "political incorrectness" of fighting Natives is the only thing saving any of it.

We are all insane.

Lemmmmmmy, Eva,

Yeah, it has been sorta dead recently. I'm quite the contributer I think. A few days ago I logged on and nobody was there. I proceeded to try to play but I'm such s social player when it comes to WoW. What I mean is, I play WoW for the company, for the laughs I get or give, for the help I can offer or receive, etc. I tend to fade away whenever I get lonely which doesn't help matters at all. lol I crawl back into my shell and wait for events to pick up instead of trying to instigate them or help them pick up. At any rate, I played for all of I think 5 minutes and then quit and decided to try again later...which I didn't and I apologize. My wife and I are planning to try to make a comeback, so you can expect to see us soon and frequently.

I figured out a while back that my heart truly lies and has always laid in the realms of Tolkien and of the Forgotten Realms. The WoW legends and stories are all awesome and beautifully written and engaging, but they never really stole my interests from my first loves. I plan to stick around and continue with you guys for as long as my friendships last, which is infinitely infinite. Grin But, I may cheat on WoW with Lord of the Rings Online and my R.A. Salvatore books I love so much, occasionally. I hope everything and everybody gets back together soon. I really miss the laughs and randomness of our guild chats and the hearts that warmed the halls of TTP. I hope to see you guys (all of TTP) again soon. As for now, Azeroth is calling me. I'll be there shortly.

I was all by my lonesome for quite some time this morning, until the Lady Evangeleigh dropped in to brighten my day. At which point I actually had to leave, so that she was then the only one on.

I found two noble topaz this morning in the Netherwing Mines, and had no one to annoy about that. Hmph!

I do suspect the new season has something to do with it, plus a break was probably needed. I can't tell you how tiresome I found the grind to exalted with the Shattered Sun. And they wanted 1000 gold to add their name to mine?! Hah!

Maybe it's a natural breather as people await the new expansion.

Hang in there all! A bunch of us still want badges. Well I do, so I will be hanging about this evening in case anything badge-like seems in the offing.

Same thing happened last year. It's just "that time" of the year.

Anyhow, I've been on mostly on the weekends. The past few nights I broke down and rolled a mage. I've always wanted to RP a character who lives in Theramore, but it was so incovenient for gameplay, until just this last patch they gave Mages the ability to teleport to Theramore. *glee*

Right now... I'm at my desk job, waiting for 5:00 to roll by. *sigh*

Dear TTP Diary,

Last night I attended a gathering of the finest environmentally minded people in our area. They were passionate, excited, brilliant, and talented. Yet I fear I heard only strategies and plans and fears of rocking the boat that echoed the same things I've heard numerous, failed, groups say for the decade I've lived here. I want to be wrong and stupid and negative and ignored, because I fear they are in for a long haul to little purpose. Sad

Oh well. I will support them from a distance in the hopes I am totally shortsighted but Not become a board member. Leaves more time to visit in Azeroth anyway, right? Wink

Today I will visit Shanti and Del's a while and then will head back here to spend time with my dogs. I'm heading for Azeroth later. I was there a few times yesterday, mostly alone grinding on dailies pretending I'm now rich. "Pretending" because compared to the current AH prices I am once again a pauper. Grin

Dear Diary. TTP is filled with such grand people. I hope we take what time we need, but that we do get back together in time. [sending mental warm hugs to the group]

Hey all,

I know I also have been on very little recently, at least in the traditional sense. I also decided after the SSO grind to try my hand at a couple new characters and rolled some alts which I have been on, usually daily. I have been hopping on Herk or Jaenik to say hello every once and a while, but that will be more consistently soon as I tire of Elwynn Forest general chat. Look forward to seeing everyone soon!! : )

Dear TTP,

I finally did something particularly insane that I can be proud of. A friend, my brother, and I made a date for dinner and the movies. What began with thai food and drinks led to giggles at the movies followed by a visit to a place called 'Bar 3'. After dancing and having a good time, this led to the decision to take a trip up north to see the sunrise. It is now 11:30 in the morning and I just got home. It is so time for bed.

Dear TTP,

Sigh..i have been gone much recently. I think the change of seasons and the like might be partially to blame. At first i tried my hand at Age of Conan, that was much fun, but only lasted a few days. I shall surely return to Azeroth soon. On a bad note, my work schedule has been changed and i now have to work nights after 10pm server time. This kills my raid time unless i have the day off....this has bummed me greatly and is another reason i have not been on much. I hope to see you all very soon.Grin

Illy my dear sweet love, season come and seasons go.....my love for you will never change. No room for bummednessWink. Expansion is soon to be here and things will change, for we are Phoenix. Wait for the dust to settle and out of the fog a vibrant creature will rise once again, never the same things shall be, a sad thing I know. But, after that fierce creature is awakened, he is wiser, faster and more intriguing than ever.

That's RIGHT! We are TTP! The phoenix will rise and all shall know the mighty power which is TTP. They think we're vulnerable when we are in disarray. HA! Little do they know that the death of a phoenix only spawns a greater beast! Wait for the dust to settle? Nay! We shall never let the dust settle! We shall shake the very ground of Azeroth with every footstep and obliterate entire Hordes of the Legion with every swing! The mighty blaze of the Phoenix rising from the gray of twilight will mark a new day! One that will not end, for TTP will stand forever to guard it!

... ... I need something to drink, my throat is dry from all that shouting...

Dear TTP,

Had myself a crazy-full weekend because family came in from out of town. Sunday was quiet, but by then I was worn out so I spent the day reading and then went out to dinner with Shanti. Between how tired I've been, the pile of novels on my "todo" list, and a new edition of Dungeons and Dragons hitting the stores this week, I expect that I'll be spending a few more days lounging on the couch reading.

Just like Anesi needs to gain some "rested XP", I just need to get some "rest" in general -- but I'll be back with a vengance soon enough!

Dear Diary,

Spent most of the day outside hauling dirt and leaves and sticks around. I am dusty. Tired, achy, and so happy. Nothing like grit in your teeth, muck covered jeans, and nails that are really truly shameful (what's left of them, it's amazing how much mud you can pack in around totally busted and broken nails) to make one feel like "I Did Something".

For a break I spent about two hours practicing dance routines. A few weeks ago I was asked to do a gypsy dance at the Canada Day celebrations July 1. Then I was asked to do that same routine at a dance show on June 21 and then two days ago I was asked to add a second dance (this one a belly dance with veils) at that June 21st show.

After over an hour working on the veil dance today I think the smart answer will be "not yet please". I'll spend my time getting the gypsy dance right. That one I at least have hope of not making too large a fool of myself.

As I recently told someone lately, I think the point of having us beginners dancing is to show that if these clumsy broads can take dance classes Anyone can. Grin

Now, a shower, wine, and a good book is in order. I'll be sound asleep in 6 minutes. Grin

Goodnight all.
